Mokhotlong April 13 – Pre-school children from different schools in the district will celebrate Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) day on Friday next week.
The day will be marked at Pitso ground in Mokhotlong town, one of the District Resource Teachers (DRT) Mrs. ‘Matsotang Mosola has said when briefing members of the Mokhotlong District Nutrition Team at a meeting held on Thursday.
Mrs. Mosola said the day is intended to further create public awareness of the important role that ECCD Centres play on the development of children in preparation for primary education.
She said activities organised for the day will include a fun walk and other activities that children will perform at pitso ground.
Mrs. Mosola therefore sought support from the nutrition team on that day.
There are more than 130 ECCD centres in the district.
The role of ECCD centres is to develop children emotionally, spiritually, intellectually and physically to mention a few and they prepare children to be exposed to primary education.
