LERIBE — Hlotse town was on Friday on illuminations as Chief Libe Molapo was inaugurated as the new Chief of Reserve at the ceremony held at Hlotse in Leribe.
This comes after his father the late Chief Peete Molapo passed away at the beginning of this year.
Speaking at the ceremony, Principal Chief of Leribe Chief Joele Mots’oene said chief Molapo should always ask for guidance from God.
Chief Mots’oene appealed that the newly inaugurated chief should always be truthful while serving the community adding that respect is also an important aspect in his job.
” The community will respect you as long you respect it,” he stated.
Speaking at the same event, Community councilor of Mankoaneng Mr. Morena Mokoena said Hlotse Urban Council is pleased to have the new Chief after the passing of late Chief Peete Molapo.
Echoing the same sentiments, on behalf of District Administrator Mr. Thulo Kemane said his office appreciates the new Chief and will work with him harmoniously.
Speaking to the community, the new Chief said there is a lot of work he has to do to make developments in Hlotse.
He promised that all the issues are going to be addressed citing land issues, waste management and road maintenance issues.
Chief Libe Molapo is unmarried, with two brothers, a sister and a mother.
