MORE THAN 10  JOURNALISTS RECEIVE AWARDS

Maseru, Nov. 22 – At Least 12 Journalists from  different media outlets received awards for their outstanding reports in relation to issues of children.

The event held in Maseru on Wednesday was in  celebration of World Children’s Day (WCD).  Queen ‘Masenate  Mohato Seeiso presented these awards to the said Journalists.

In her speech, the Queen commended those who won awards in different categories that include: child hunger and malnutrition, online exploitation as well as trafficking in persons.

The Queen who is also National Champion of Children added that issues of children are  close to her heart as a Champion of Children in Lesotho.

She noted that bearing witness to occasions such as these gives her hope as  challenges facing children namely; climate change, HIV/AIDS and Covid-19 among others make children  vulnerable to human trafficking, child malnutrition and online exploitation, thus denying  them their human rights. . .
