Qacha’s Nek, Aug.16—Olympian Tebello Ramakongoana has called on the private sector to provide much-needed support for athletes to boost local sports.
Speaking at the Mountain Marathon 21km event in preparation for the upcoming marathon on October 26, he emphasized that such support serves as vital motivation for athletes.
“We’re not asking for miracles—simple things like shoes or food during competitions can make a big difference,” Olympian Ramakongoana said, referencing Letsile Tebogo, Botswana’s first-ever Olympic gold medallist, who won a house after his victory, knowing what was at stake. . . .
