OVER 900 ELECTORAL DIVISIONS UP FOR GRABS IN LOCAL GOVT ELECTIONS
Maseru, Aug 03 — Political parties and Independent Candidates are bracing themselves for a tough battle as they will be scrambling to win 950 Electoral Divisions (EDs) in the Local Government elections set for September 29 this year.
Following the successful nomination of candidates on July 27, there is a confirmed total number of 7083 candidates who will be vying for the 950 EDs come September 29 according to the information given by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) Public Relations Manager Mr Tuoe Hantsi.
However, he was unable to say how many Independent Candidates as well as female candidates who will be contesting the much-anticipated Local Government polls. . .
