Maseru, Aug. 28 – The Parliament of Lesotho, comprising the Senate and the National Assembly, held a strategic workshop in Maseru on Thursday with leading academic and research institutions.
The event was held under the theme ‘Enhancing Legislative Decision-Making through Academic Collaboration’.
Opening the session, the Clerk of the Senate, Advocate Ts’eliso Molise, highlighted that the workshop was designed to equip members of both Houses with well-researched information to support informed deliberations.
‘The purpose of this engagement is to ensure that when Parliament delivers to the nation, its decisions are grounded in credible research. At the same time, it allows us to build stronger relationships with tertiary institutions’, he said.
On behalf of the Academic Research Institutions Professor Motlamelle Kapa applauded the workshop saying it will help bridge the gap between legislative processes and research institutions…NT/BM
