Maseru, April.07–The four parties comprising of Basotho National Party (BNP), Basotho Patriotic Party (BPP), Lesotho People’s Congress (LPC), And United For Change (UFC) have released a statement in which they reiterate that the Council of State should advise His Majesty King Letsie III to establish a tribunal that will investigate the three IEC commissioners’ fitness to hold office.
This the aforementioned parties say comes after the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) committed an error by not excluding the Revolution for Prosperity Party (RFP) and National Independent Party (NIP) in the second round of seat allocation contrary to Section 3 (2), when calculating proportional representation (PR) seats in the wake of the General Elections held on October, 7,
2022.
