PM TO LEAD LESOTHO DELEGATION TO AU SUMMIT

Maseru, Feb. 13 — The Prime Minister Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane will lead a Delegation from Lesotho at the upcoming African Union 38th Ordinary Session of the African Union Heads of State and Government in the Capital Addis Ababa, from February 15th to 16th.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Mr. Lejone Mpotjoane told the Agency that this year’s Summit is crucial as it includes election of the new Commission that will serve at the helm of the Union for the next four years.

He stated that on the margins of the Summit, and at the instruction of King Letsie III, African Union Champion for Nutrition, Prime Minister Matekane will host a high-level dinner under the theme ‘From Policy to Action: Towards a Common Position to Addressing Malnutrition in Africa’.

He added that the event aims to consolidate lessons learnt from past commitments, ignite high-level political interest in the upcoming Nutrition for Growth (N4G) Summit to take place in Paris and also serve as a platform to reaffirm Africa’s shared nutrition goals in alignment with Agenda 2063.
