Maseru, Mar.03—Following the burning of Mapetla House on Sunday afternoon where one room was affected, preliminary reports show the cause of fire as electricity, says Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) Fire and Rescue Superintendent ‘Muso Lehlokoa.
He said they are continuing with the investigations but said the tenant who occupied the burned room had told them that the distribution board showed some error on Friday but later corrected itself. He, however, said everything in the said room had burned to ashes.
Therefore, he advised the owners of buildings to be equipped on risk assessment so that they know what is needed to protect their property against different hazards including fire. He mentioned that building property should comply with safety measures including having fire marshals outside buildings so that they act immediately when fire breaks.
