Maseru,June 29 — Princess ‘Maseeiso Mohato Seeiso led the tree planting initiative that was held at the foothills of the Thaba-Bosiu fortress on Saturday.
Speaking in an interview with the Agency on Saturday, the Project Coordinator of ‘Mantsopa Rotary club Mr. Makhetha Motsoari said that the purpose of this event is to plant trees in replacement of the tree that King Moshoeshoe I had planted.
He said that it is also to clean the surroundings of the fortress as during the celebrations of the 200 years, there is a possibility of increased tourism activities which they want the tourists to find the place clean and attractive.
He mentioned that it is also to instill in the spirit of patriotism to youth as in this initiative they are working with youth from a few tertiary institutions in the country.
