Maseru, Sept 18 — The prosecution has opposed an application for recusal of a judge presiding over a case in which Thabiso Lekitla, a Member of Parliament for Mekaling, is charged with murder.
Lekitla has asked Justice Mabatsoeneng Hlaele to recuse herself indicating that she is likely to be biased when dealing with the trial.
In her arguments on behalf of the prosecution, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Advocate Hlalefang Motinyane stated that the alleged apprehension of fear from the accused cannot be reason enough for the judge to recuse herself. She asked that the application be dismissed. . .
