QACHA’S NEK PERFORMANCE FALLS SHORT:  GRADE 7 RESULTS

Qacha’sNek, Dec. 21 – The District Education Manager (DEM), Mr. Lebenya Mothibeli, has expressed disappointment over Qacha’sNek’s performance in the 2024 Grade 7 achievement report, revealing a significant drop from last year.

With a score of 76.5 percent, the district has seen a decline from 92 percent in 2023. This year’s result matches Quthing, while Leribe leads with 81.9 percent, followed by Maseru at 79.5 percent, and Mafeteng at 77.2 percent.

Other districts such as Mohale’sHoek, Thaba-Tseka, Mokhotlong, and Butha-Buthe saw even lower results.

In an interview with the Agency, Mr. Mothibeli attributed the decline to various factors, primarily the lack of preparation in teaching composition and letter writing in earlier grades…
