Qacha’s Nek, Aug. 06 — Senior Magistrate Ts’eliso Bale of the Qacha’sNek Magistrate Court sentenced Zolile Phalatsane to 15 years jail term without the option of a fine.
Phalatsane 32 from Melikane, Mahooeng was convicted of sexually assaulting a 41 year-old woman on May 23, 2024.
Phalatsane, who pleaded innocent was found guilty based on corroborated testimonies from the complainant, the host and others after Public Prosecutor Tsotang Maile did not accept his plea.
The victim testified that Phalatsane, whom she knew from her home village, Likileng, raped her after a night of drinking homemade beer with him and others.
