Maseru, Oct.15 — Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso as patron of people with disabilities has strongly called for prioritization of disability.
This she said when officiating Vodacom’s mutli-stakeholder Disability Accessibility Conference in Maseru on Wednesday organized by Vodacom Lesotho Foundation to delve into disability inclusion through a multifaceted approach, examining the national context of Lesotho’s challenges etc.
She said disability is not a burden and that people with disabilities have right to enjoy same benefits as those able bodied.


She said it is high time that government invest in disability saying that people with disabilities deserve to be educated and employed.
She added that there is need for political will to ensure that there is accessibility and inclusion in all sectors.
On the other hand Minister of Gender, Youth and Social Development Mr. Pitso Lesaoana said they are united by shared commitment to promote inclusion and equal opportunities to people with disabilities.

He called on development partners to continue financing disability, inclusive development ensuring that their support reaches programmes that directly improve access, participation and empowerment for persons with disabilities in Lesotho.
He commended Vodacom Foundation for setting powerful example, its initiatives in technology, education and social inclusion remind them that business can be a true force for good. . . .
