QUTHING TO CELEBRATE GIRL CHILD DAY 

Quthing, Oct. 23 — The Quthing District celebration to mark Girl Child Day on the theme ‘Girls Vision for the future’ will be held at  Qomoqomong on November 28.

This has been agreed at the District Child Protection Team (DCPT) meeting held at Karabo ea Bophelo District office in Moyeni.  Karabo ea Bophelo is one of the Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) engaged in among others protection and promotion of children’s rights.

Attendants agreed  that the theme highlights the need to empower, support, educate and provide leadership opportunities for girls to help them reach their potential in the development of their lives.

They further agreed that activities for the day should include provision of education on among others prevention of gender based violence (GBV), law and GBV,  protection of human rights, importance of community support in protection of girl child and joined efforts to end child marriage.
