Maseru, Aug. 21 — Dr. Ntsidi Moopela a medical doctor and a lecturer from Bloemfontein in South Africa, says a postmortem report compiled following examination of the body of the late Mahlompho Matela is inconclusive therefore he does not trust it.
This he said on Wednesday when testifying as a second defence witness in a murder case against Qamo Matela, the husband of the deceased who is accused of her death.
He stated that there is no mechanism of death in the postmortem adding that there is missing information. He indicated that the pathologist who performed the postmortem did not qualify the excessive bleeding which he found to be the cause of the death of the deceased. He said liver laceration which was found on the deceased could have been caused by compression during resuscitation which was done on her while in hospital.
The witness said if the pathologist had taken history, he would have known that he had to confirm or exclude other possible causes of death.
