RESIDENTS APPLAUD AA PROJECT

Thaba Tseka, Dec. 16 — Topa residents now have access to clean portable water in their midst after many years of struggle.

This was stated by Topa Chieftainess Makutso Ntoa while addressing the delegation that went on a site visit to monitor the water project that was sponsored by WFP through its Anticipatory Action (AA) project.

Speaking to the delegation, she said they used to rely on two unprotected wells which dried up during drought seasons. She added that they were forced to travel long distances to fetch water at the Ha Manase River Valley which is two hours away from their village.

She also highlighted that since the wells dried up during the day, they had to wake up as early as midnight to walk for four hours to the valley to fetch water.
