RURAL COMMUNITIES RESORT TO SOIL TO PROTECT SKIN

Thaba Tseka, Nov. 12 – Due to the high costs of sunscreens and increased UV exposure from climatic changes, rural communities have resorted to using loam soil to protect their faces against excessive sun rays.

This was established in an interview with community members from Ha Motake and ‘Matsaile who indicated that the soil named Keketsa and Khokhotsi makes glowing skin.

They said since they spend most of their time exposed to the sun, they felt it would be better to resort to affordable and natural ways of protecting their skin.

Speaking in an interview with Mrs. Marelebohile Qhoola from Ha Motake, she indicated that she prefers using yellow soil which is named Keketsa as she had seen its benefits on her face.
