SADP DEFRAUDED

Botha-Bothe, Sept. 14 — The Smallholder Agricultural Development Project (SADP) has fallen victim to a fraudulent scheme in which M160,000 was allegedly embezzled by employees of Standard Lesotho Bank (STD) and a teacher from Phahameng School.

The accused individuals include Motseki Lelosa (44) from Ha Shepeseli in Leribe, a teacher; Libuseng Letho (34) from ‘Mate, Ha Selebalo; ‘Malimpho Makoa (55) from Lipelaneng, Ha Kamoho; and Ntsoaki Malefetsane (37) from Ha Nqabeni, all three employed by Standard Lesotho Bank. They appeared before the Botha-Bothe Magistrate Court on September 12, 2023, facing charges related to fraud.

The four accused individuals are charged with violating the provisions of Section 68(1) in conjunction with Section 109 of the Penal Code Act No.6 of 2010, which pertains to fraud and forgery. According to court documents, Lelosa was one of the beneficiaries of the SADP project, which aimed to support his dairy farming venture.
