THE COUNTRY SHOULD EXPECT MORE HAIL – MOHALE

Mohale’s Hoek, Oct. 27 — Meteorologist Technical Assistant, Mr. Tanki Mohale says due to strong winds and extreme heat surrounding the country, more hail should be expected until December.

Mr. Mohale stated this in an interview with the Agency following an incident in which some villages were affected by hailstorm.

He added that due to the effects of climate change, the country is experiencing some cold days and heat concurrently, noting that the previous hail which rocked Mohlakeng some weeks ago was followed by strong and dusty winds prior to the hailstorm.

On the other hand, chief of Thoteng Mr. Tumelo Samuel Ratopa says about five villages have suffered a terrible loss, whereby crops like maize, peas and peaches were smashed down by hail, but noted there is still hope as some crops were still at a developing stage.
