Berea, Feb 20—With tourism regarded to be the cornerstone of the country’s economy, some people in the tourism sector have applauded the government’s plan to work towards the nomination of the Heritage Route from Botha-Bothe to Thaba-bosiu.
This emerged after the Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Dr. Rets’elisitsoe Matlanyane presented the 2025/2026 budget speech fiscal year, where she announced that the tourism sector will be allocated a budget of M207.2 million.
Also in her remarks, Dr. Matlanyane highlighted that the government will work towards the nomination of the Heritage Route from Botha-Bothe to Thaba-Bosiu and the development of two nomination dossiers (Basotho Hat and Mokhibo) for inclusion in the UNESCO 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative List…
