Maseru, June.18 — With the Road Transport Board having not published new price list for transport fares, it is unlikely that new prices will be implemented on July 01 as it had been expected.
Public transport operators across the country had proposed an increase of local fares by M2 to M15 from the current M13. The new prices including those for long distance were expected to effect from next month.
Maseru Region Transport Operators (MRTO) Spokesperson Mr. Lebohang Moea on Wednesday told the Agency that the new prices will not be implemented in July as per their proposal because the Road Transport Board has not yet given the green light on the proposal.
He said with usually the Board publishes new price list together with notice to the public a month prior to the implementation saying now its mid-June and no decision has been reached therefore that warrants no new transport fares on July 01. . .
