Maseru, Aug. 05 — The Ministry of Health in collaboration with its partners has embarked on dissemination of Triple Elimination of HIV/Syphilis and Hepatitis B Strategic plan.
The aim is to allow stakeholders to share views and a review on the best ways to eliminate Mother-to-Child transmission.
Dr. Mamotena Sekhobe, Head of the Family Health Division indicated that the objectives of the program is to promote multi-sectoral coordination, ensure the integration and strengthening of routine data, and be initiated at district level planning.
Mrs. Masebeo Koto on behalf of the Ministry stated that the cause for mother to child transmission is mainly failure to access treatment, due to negligence or easy accessibility to health facilities. In addition, she said some default and this makes it hard to recover.
