TRUMP REMOVES US FROM UN AGENCIES

Maseru, Feb. 05 — President of the United States (US), Donald Trump has signed an executive order to remove the US from the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and other UN agencies.

According to the staff secretary of the White House, Will Scharf, Trump signed this order on Tuesday, February 4.

He noted that Trump’s decision to sign the order was taken in response to address the ‘anti-American bias’ within the UN agencies.

He said, “More generally, the executive order calls for a review of American involvement and funding in the UN in light of the wild disparities and levels of funding among different countries.”
