Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Dr. Phamotse said her party is offering scholarships to Basotho students who will be taking different disciplines, noting that the bilateral relations between Lesotho and Russia have a long and rich history of cooperation, and Basotho studied in Russia since just before independence.

The scholarships cover tuition fees of over M35 000, while parents are to pay for accommodation and food.

She said UAT is reviving this long fruitful cooperation in the different era and different domestic, regional and international political landscape, and studying in Russia will equip Basotho learners with expertise in fields such as medicine, engineering, agriculture, information and technology and many other skills that are critically needed in Lesotho.
