UNFPA, GOVERNMENT VALIDATES AADPD REPORT

Maseru, Aug. 10 — United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) together with government departments and other relevant stakeholders have held a validation meeting on Addis Ababa Declaration for Population Development (AADPD), the meeting was held in Maseru on Monday.

In her opening remarks, Mrs. Motsélisi Molorane Phakisi said the declaration comprises 88 priority measures or commitments, grouped under six pillars, dignity and equality, health, place and mobility, governance, data and statistics, partnership and international cooperation.

She stated that today’s meeting seeks to review the progress that has been made, the challenges encountered and to map the way forward.
