UNFPA STEPS IN TO TACKLE TEENAGE PREGNANCY AND GBV

Qacha’s Nek, Oct. 2 –A  Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Mentor in Qacha’s Nek, Mrs. ‘Masenate Makhasane-Ramone has praised the  intervention of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in addressing the district’s urgent health crises.

 As the area faces rising cases of teenage pregnancies, malnutrition, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV), particularly in hard-to-reach regions, the UNFPA’s humanitarian response is seen as a critical lifeline.

Speaking in an interview with the Agency, Mrs. Makhasane-Ramone highlighted the escalating number of pregnancies among girls from as young as 12 – 19 years…
