UNTIDY STATE OF TOWNS CONCERN TO GOVERNMENT – MPUTI

Mokhotlong, Aug.01 – The untidy state in which Mokhotlong and two other districts are in needs to be addressed in order to keep the environment clean and healthy all the time.

The Minister of Public Services, Mr. Mputi Mputi has said when expressing the government’s concern over polluted environment in some of towns either from liquid to solid waste.

He was speaking at the meeting with key stakeholders in environment protection held in Mokhotlong on Friday.

He said the other two districts are Leribe and Mafeteng adding that they have also been visited to identify challenges and what contributed to the state of pollution in these districts.

Mr. Mputi said keeping the environment clean is one of the government’s priority activities hence the implementation of operation hloekisa Lesotho “cleaning campaigns”usually led by Cabinet Ministers in all the districts of the country.

He said all waste should be managed and controlled properly to promote cleanliness on the environment adding that after the meeting, they will compile a report and present it to Cabinet.

Also speaking was the Minister of Environment and Forestry Mr. Letsema Adontsi also urged stakeholders to increase effort and ensure that the environment is clean all the time. . .
