Maseru, Apr. 16–Lesotho is said to be among the 10 countries where the United States (US) missions will be permanently closed, following the State Department cost-cutting plan.
Reports show that the office of the US Under Secretary Management is part of the plan to reduce the budget by 50 percent and the the countries that are likely to be affected are Lesotho, Eritrea, Grenada, the Central African Republic, Luxembourg, the Republic of Congo, Gambia, South Sudan, Malta and Maldives.
It is also reported that the US State Department has proposed that diplomatic responsibilities in these countries will be taken over by the embassies in neighbouring countries…
