WE ACTED ON ORDERS-ACCUSED

Maseru, Nov.12—Seageant Tjekane Sebolai, one of the accused charged with the murder of Lisebo Tang which occurred on May 09 2014 near the home of Retired Army Commander Lieutenant General Tlali Kamoli, has on Wednesday told the Court that what he and his co-accused, Private Selone Ratsíu, did that day, was pursuant to orders.

In his evidence as witness number seven for the defence, he stated that on that day he, together with his co-accused and Private Kopano Matsoso went on a night guard at the residence of Kamoli who was at that time the army commander. He indicated that their Platoon Commander was the then Lieutenant Moletsane adding that they took orders from him.

He testified that among the orders issued were that they must be on a look-out for a certain vehicle, which was described to them, because it was used to drop bombs at the homes of Liabiloe and the then Commissioner of Police Khothatso Tsóoana. He said they were told that the alleged bombings might occur at the Commander’s place therefore they must protect him. He added that the vehicle was sought by the law enforcement agencies in the country.

The accused further testified that there was also an intelligence that the police were planning to arrest the Commander and that the arrest was not going to take place in a pleasant manner…
