Mohale’s Hoek, Nov.12 — The court of the Magistrate has joined a 41-year-old man from Taung, Majapereng Motlatsi Pebane to the murder case of Makalo Lelia, a thirty-five year old man from the same village, the two are proclaimed to have committed in May, 2006 at Thotaneng.
Both the accused, whom the Agency has learned from a reliable source that they were terrorizing communities in those years, are reported to have stormed into the house of the late ‘Mantsane Lepheane demanding money, the sexually assaulted the latter in the presence of her children, and the other suspect is still at large, while another one has turned state witness
Evidence further shows that after the incident the accused left the house, but Lelia went back and shot Lepheana on the left shoulder, was granted bail by the high court in 2023, while the Magistrate court has re-cussed the latter from attending remands but will be summoned once the case commences.
Furthermore, police reports show that in August, 2025 Pebane was found in possession of illegal firearms like a 357 mm revolver with 60 ammunition, Uzzi model and 2 magazines, but failed to produce licenses. . . .
