Maseru, April 13 — Following the Memorandum of Understanding signed by Beautiful Dream Society (BDS) and Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) on issues relating to human trafficking, the agency took to the streets of Maseru to enquire on how much people knew about human trafficking.
Speaking in an interview with the Agency, Youths of various ages said they knew human trafficking as transportation or receipt of persons, by means of fraudulent employment agencies and a fake promise of job opportunities to trick the victims.
They indicated that they recognize human trafficking when traffickers frequently use social platforms to recruit individuals into forced labour and sex work. They showed that traffickers target vulnerable people by preying on their personal situations, and they groom their victims online by offering fake employment opportunities and promises of better life…..
