Qacha’s Nek, Sept.08 — Three hundred and eighteen people contest for the upcoming local government elections set for September 29.
The number consists of independent candidates and political parties affiliates.
The Agency has learnt that among the contestants, 227 represent political parties while 91 are independent.
Among those representing political parties, 193 are males while 125 are females.
Tsoelikana has the highest number of candidates standing at 88, followed by Qanya 82, Nts’upe 77 and lastly Urban council 71.
