Qacha’s Nek, Sept. 08 — With the nationwide Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign fast approaching, the Ministry of Health through the District Health Management Team (DHMT) launched a two-day training on Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE).
Set for October 20 to 24, the campaign aims to vaccinate 95 percent of children aged 9 months to 4 years and 11 months. Ahead of the drive, RCCE members will lead intensive community mobilization to ensure no child is missed.
Held in Qacha’sNek, the training brought together 21 participants from various sectors including Local Government, Agriculture, Education, the Lesotho Red Cross Society, and traditional healers.
Its objective was to equip stakeholders with skills to lead effective community engagement and mobilization for the upcoming MR Supplementary Immunization Activity (SIA) – a nationwide catch-up campaign to close immunity gaps.
