STILL NO JUSTICE FOR MURDERED NUL STUDENT

Maseru, Jul. 15—Two years after the murder of a National University of Lesotho (NUL) BSC

Environmental Health student, the justice wheel seems to be at a standstill.

Kopano Makutoane was allegedly murdered by members of the Lesotho Mounted Police Service

(LMPS) during the student union strike for monthly allowances.

In an interview on Monday, Commissioner of Police (COMPOL) Advocate Borotho Matsoso has confirmed that since 2022,

the murder suspects are still on interdiction on full salary while they are awaiting the office of the

Director Public Prosecutions (DPP) to make an inquest as to who is responsible for Makutoane’s

brutal murder.
