BASOTHO WANT IMPLEMENTATION OF HYDRO NATION

Maseru, Oct. 13 — After getting the glimpse of what Lesotho future could look like in relation to a  hydro nation, Basotho attended water and hydrogen in a digital future conference and expo desire for implementation of the hydro nation project.

If the shared vision  becomes a reality, one of the entrepreneurs, Mr. Teboho Mafuta told the Agency in an interview that after yesterday’s deliberations, there is indeed hope for the nation and its people.

However, he mentioned that managing  water and environment to the best  advantage of all, using knowledge and expertise at home and internationally requires a nation’s theoretical and practical desire for change.

“What we have seen with our vision 2020 is a clear indication that there is willingness to shape Lesotho into becoming a better country but implementation is a challenge, ” he said.

Therefore, he noted that unless implementation happens, the water  vision that has been shared will end where others have ended, thus failing to see the light.

Another participant, Ms. Lerato Mohau said though she is only participating today and did not come yesterday due to other engagements, she is adamant that ahead of 200 years of the existence of Basotho commemoration next year, a water  conference and expo is a bold step towards giving hope to the Basotho nation.

In another story,  LNDC Corporate Communication Manager, Ms. Tiisetso Moremoholo said in line with their motto, ‘Together We Build Sustainable Industry’,  the outcome of this expo will go a long way towards helping the country realise the extended NSDP ll.

She explained that agriculture as a priority area can not be separated from water, thus she is convinced the expo presents a lot of investment opportunities in the hydrogen economy.

The water  conference and expo which started on Thursday will end later today. Topics for today include digital markets and others as well as the road ahead conference resolutions and closing remarks  expected to be delivered by the Prime Minister, Mr. Ntsokoane Samuel Matekane.
