Quthing, Aug. 15 — At least 700 beneficiaries of Lesotho Red Cross Society (LRCS) Drought Relief Project from different villages in the areas of Mjanyane Community Council have been supported with hybrid seeds for summer cropping by the project.
The Quthing LRCS Senior Branch Development Officer, Mr. Maphoma Mosaola in an interview said that the seeds have been distributed to the beneficiaries as part of the project’s efforts aimed at building resilience and improving food security.
He stated that beneficiaries are expected to plant the seeds during this summer cropping, which kicks in from this month and produce food for consumption and income generation to improve their livelihoods.
Mr. Mosaola stated that each of the project beneficiaries has received 5kg of bean seeds, 5kg peas and of wheat.
