MOHALE’S HOEK — The ministry in partnership with United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is doing rounds across the country to engage the general public’s opinions, views and input in the national budget of 2026/2027 fiscal year.
Mrs. Maleshoane Lekomola Danziger, Manager inBudget Controller indicated that the Government of Lesotho has engaged its stakeholder UNICEF to partake in this mammoth task of consulting with the public.
Mrs Danziger said it is important for the government to be inclusive at all times when drawing up and designing the budget.
She further pointed out that in doing so, public’s opinions, views and remarks are respected and not taken for granted and they will help in shaping up an inclusive budget that represents all sectors of the public including civil society organisations.
The Budget Controller said engaging and consulting with the public is the first necessary step to be taken in any country all over the world. . .
