Maseru, Apr. 11 — The People’s Republic of China on Friday raised its additional tariffs on imports from the U.S. to 125 percent in retaliation to the Trump administration’s 145 percent levies on Chinese exports.
The Chinese Commerce Ministry said China raised additional tariffs to 125 percent on imported U.S. products, raising the levies from the previous 84 percent.
China also filed a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization (WTO) following the U.S. tariff hikes, the commerce ministry said.
According to the latest U.S. notification, the overall trade tariffs on China amounted to 145 percent. AT/TL
