Maseru, Apr. 11 — Receipts, which were unavailable at the Department of Traffic and affected delivery of services are now accessible.
This was revealed by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Small Business Mr. Mokhethi Shelile when responding to a Member of Parliament (MP) Mrs. Malelaka Malakane’s plea to the government to urgently attend the escalating crisis in the department of traffic which has escalated to inability for Basotho to use their vehicles due to unavailability of receipts.
Mr Shelile said receipts will be distributed to the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning thus traffic services will be offered from next week.
He added that preparations for the Ministry to migrate to digital platforms are at an advanced stage and such services will commence from May, adding that number plates issuance challenge will also be addressed, starting mid May. LR/TL
