CHRISTMAS CAME EARLY FOR LEKOKOANENG COMMUNITY

Maseru, Oct.10—Christmas has come early for Lekokoaneng community as 17 villages out of 40 received water supply from the Lesotho Lowlands Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project (LLRWSSP) handed over by Prime Minister Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane.

The one-year water project was launched in March 2024 and completed in March this year.

In his remarks, the Prime Minister appealed to the community to protect the water system for future generations.

He said this is part of Lesotho lowlands water scheme saying his government is doing this in line with the National Strategic Development Plan. 

He added that the second and third phases of lowlands water are currently ongoing in Leribe and Botha-Bothe respectively.

The prime minister highlighted that water supply is intended to promote hygiene to avoid unnecessary outbreaks of diseases.

He said peaches which are sold here, and stone produced should contribute towards economic growth, urging the Minister of Agriculture to ensure that peaches sold here are produced by locals…
