COUNCILLORS TO WAIT ANOTHER WEEK

Maseru, Nov.06 — Recently elected Community Councillors will have to wait another week to be officially sworn in as their swearing in which was scheduled for Tuesday (November 07) this week has been postponed to next week Wednesday (November 15).

This is according to information from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftainship which states that this is due to delay in issuance of gazette forming or establishing District Councils.

The swearing in was also supposed to be the first sitting of Community Councillors while at the same time allowing them to elect Mayor of Maseru.

Meanwhile December 08, 2023 has been proclaimed as the day for by-elections for Local Government elections by the Prime Minister Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane. . .
