COURT ASSUMES JURISDICTION

Maseru, Sept.20—-The High Court sitting as the Constitutional Court, on Wednesday assumed its jurisdiction to entertain a case in which the constitutionality of The Laws of Lerotholi and Children’s Protection and Welfare Act is being challenged.

This was after it heard arguments on jurisdiction whereby the respondents argued that the court does not have jurisdiction to hear the case. They added that what the applicant is seeking should be placed before the Land Court as it has declaratory powers in instances where one seeks to be declared an heir.
