COURT EXPUNGES EVIDENCE 

Maseru, Nov.03– The Maseru Magistrate’s Court, through Senior Resident Magistrate Peter Murenzi has on Friday, in a case in which four army members are charged with attempted murder of Former Editor of the Lesotho Times and Sunday Express newspapers Lloyd Mutungamiri, expunged evidence of an accomplice witness Lieutenant Mahanyane Phusumane which was led in July this year.    

The case was previously adjourned after the defence discovered that the evidence of the witness was not electronically recorded. They demanded that the proceedings be electronically recorded, and the case had to be adjourned as the recording system within the judiciary was not working following a viral attack. 

The Court today directed that the witness starts his evidence afresh as the defence and the prosecution could not agree on what to be done with part of the evidence which is unrecorded. . .
