DR. NTIA RULES OUT ANTHRAX OUTBREAK AT HA TSEKA

Maseru, July 19 — Dr. Mookho Ntia has ruled out an anthrax outbreak at Ha Tseka after eight cattle died between June and July this year alone.

When approached to say if her office was aware of the eight cattle died at Ha Tseka in the Mazenod area, Dr. Ntia told the Agency on Friday that she was aware of the incident.

However, she said based on reports they got from the villagers, there was no way that the cattle should have died due to anthrax.

Dr. Ntia said she was unable to say for sure the cattle did not die because of the anthrax outbreak, citing that her office did not conduct the tests on the dead cattle because they were not informed timeously in order to take necessary investigations.
