EASTER BRINGS MIXED FORTUNES FOR SMALL BUSINESSES IN TEYATEYANENG

Berea, April 07 — As economic pressures continue to affect small enterprises across Berea, some traders in Teyateyaneng say the Easter holidays brought relief, while others reported no noticeable change in their daily earnings.

In an interview with the Agency on Tuesday, fruit and snack vendor Mr. Thabang Thuntša said the Easter period brought a noticeable boost to his sales.

He explained that the influx of customers during the holidays allowed him to make more profit than on ordinary days.

“I have been arriving at my stall earlier and leaving later than on a normal day because of the high number of customers,” he said.

However, not all traders experienced the same trend. Local photographer Mr. Thabelang Molantoa said his business remained unchanged throughout the Easter period.

“I have not seen any difference between the holidays and normal days,” he said, indicating that demand for his services stayed consistent.

The contrasting experiences highlight ongoing challenges faced by small business owners, where income opportunities can vary depending on the type of trade and customer demand.
