Maseru, June.22 — Following closure of the only rehabilitation centre in the country, Blue Cross Lesotho in 2022, thus leaving Lesotho without a rehabilitation centre for drug and alcohol addicts in the past three years, plans to open a National Rehabilitation Centre is in the pipeline.
Minister of Health Mr. Selibe Mochoboroane has disclosed that a partnership has been sealed between the Ministry of Health and a group of youth under the SEBABATSO Youth Empowerment Initiative to establish and operate a National Rehabilitation Centre.
He said the centre will serve as a national facility for rehabilitation, targeting substance abuse recovery, mental health support as well as reintegration of health services.
He said to sustain and support the center’s operations, the government of Lesotho has pledged a subvention from national budget. . . .
