Maseru, Oct. 19—About 29 Basotho artists in the music industry were awarded as best in different music categories at the first National Music awards ceremony which was held at the ‘Manthabiseng convention centre on Friday night.
The event which is now anticipated to be an annual event is reported to be a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Tourism, Gender, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture together with Melodious music awards and LESCOSA.
Speaking at this event, the Minister of Tourism Mr. Motlatsi Maqelepo said that even under budget constraints that the country is faced with, they set aside funds to establish the annual music awards which will give recognition to the local music artists…
