FLIGHT OPERATIONS RESUME AT MOSHOESHOE I INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Maseru, Dec. 05 — The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has confirmed the resumption of flight operations at Moshoeshoe I International Airport today, following a temporary suspension caused by operational challenges.

According to the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mrs. Ntumeleng Ntsékhe, flight services were suspended due to the breakdown of a fire truck, which led to a downgrading of the airport’s fire cover, a critical safety requirement for flight operations.

Mrs. Ntsékhe assured the public that the fire truck has been repaired and is now fully operational and to enhance preparedness and avoid future disruptions, the Ministry has announced the availability of two fire trucks to meet the required safety standards for flight operations.

“The repaired truck is ready and we have taken measures to ensure continuous operations. Two trucks will now be available to provide the necessary fire cover to support scheduled services,” said Ntsékhe.
