LESOTHO, ETHIOPIA TO EXPLORE COOPERATION IN AVIATION

Maseru, Feb. 04 — The kingdom of Lesotho and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) are engaged in talks, discussing a possible Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA).

This is according to Lesotho’s Ministry of foreign Affairs.

 Once signed by both governments this agreement is expected to unlock numerous opportunities including enhanced trade, economic growth in Lesotho’s aviation sector, improved mobility, skills transfer as well as job creation.

Lesotho’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Ms. Nts`iuoa  Sekete, confirmed this development following her meeting with the Director General of the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA), Mr. Getachew Mengistie and representatives from Ethiopian Airlines on January 24 in Addis Ababa.
